Responsible for recruiting new shoots to the assurance scheme while also keeping existing registered shoots and game farms up to date with BGA news.

 

Development Officer

A Development Officer is a representative for the British Game Alliance for a geographically-defined region of the United Kingdom. They will be responsible for recruiting new shoots to the assurance scheme while also keeping existing registered shoots and game farms up to date with BGA news. They will manage relationships across their region, liaising with registered vets, game dealers, shoots and game farms, and will provide feedback to the BGA leadership group.

 

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Grow the reach of assurance by researching and recruiting new shoots and game farms within a specified region
  • Create and deliver presentations to future and existing members
  • Act as the primary point of contact for existing and potential member shoots and game farms in a specified region
  • Work with BGA registered processors within the specified region to onboard their shoots to ensure a 100% BGA assured supply chain
  • Keep member shoots and game farms informed and up to date on BGA news and work to address any concerns arising from stakeholders within the specific region
  • Help registered shoots to promote and collect the levy as part of the BGA’s “Investor in Standards” scheme
  • Assist with answering any regional queries
  • Assist with promoting BGA events / attending shows within the region
  • Inputting data into Hubspot and maintaining this information

 

The Person

  • Strong understanding of shooting and the countryside 
  • Good communication skills, articulate in both written and verbal communication – a friendly and warm style
  • Discreet, with ability to manage sensitive data in a confidential and appropriate manner
  • Confident with public speaking and the use of presentation software
  • Experience of working with full suite of Microsoft Office is essential and experience of using a CRM is desirable
  • Strong drive to grow the BGA in your region 

 

Remuneration

  • Basic salary
  • Commission based on initial shoot sign up and on retention rate
  • Commission on levy raised 
  • On target earnings of circa £30,000
